QR Codes in the Classroom

What are QR Codes?

-A QR Code (short for “Quick Response”) is a barcode that contains information that can be read by a mobile device’s camera.
-Smartphones and tablets have software that allows them to download a QR Code reader (scanner). -Some readers can be downloaded from the app store for free. MISD has a free reader (scanner) in the MISD App Catalog for the Staff iPads.

How do I make QR codes?
-Find a free QR Code generator online, ex.  http://qrcode.kaywa.com/ or http://www.qrstuff.com/
-Type in information or paste URL
-Save QR Code and post in your classroom, teacher website, etc.

How to use them?
-Create QR Codes for math problems, writing prompts, vocabulary, science videos, teacher’s website, lessons plans, assignments
-Post QR Code everywhere for students to access, in your classroom, doors, bathroom stalls J
